Learning Goals

Problem

Based on observations and interviews, students find the immune system complex because it involves many different cells, terminology, and ordering. As a result, there are many student misconceptions.

I had forgotten that the macophage came in and then requests help from the Helper T. The sequential processes isn't very clear to many people.

  • Understand the conceptual model of the immune system.
  • Understand the sequence of the immune system response.
  • Understand the specific roles of the immune system cells.
  • Understand how they communicate with one another.

Secondary

  • Strategies that both the immune system and invading pathogens use.
  • Lifestyle choices may lead to an immunosuppresed body.
